HerbaCal™ – Algae Calcium with Vitamin K2 for the maintenance of normal bones

HerbaCal™ is a food supplement designed for those who want a targeted intake of plant-based calcium, combined with vitamin K2, vitamin D, magnesium and vitamin C: selected nutrients known for their role in the physiological maintenance of normal bones.

The core of the formula is a marine algae calcium naturally rich in minerals, integrated into a comprehensive nutritional matrix designed to support the body's needs over time, especially during life stages when attention to bone structure becomes more important.

Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. Magnesium contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones.

A complete nutritional approach for bones

HerbaCal™ is not simply a calcium supplement, but a formula built on the principle of nutritional balance. Calcium is combined with carefully selected micronutrients involved in bone metabolism, offering a more comprehensive approach compared to single-ingredient products.

The combination of calcium, vitamin D, vitamin K2, magnesium and vitamin C reflects a modern approach to supplementation, focused on supporting normal physiological functions.

Vitamin D and risk of falls

Vitamin D contributes to reducing the risk of falls associated with postural instability and muscle weakness. Falls are a risk factor for bone fractures in men and women aged 60 years and older.

This statement is part of a broader focus on maintaining mobility, balance and safety throughout life.

Algae calcium: a natural plant-based source

The calcium in HerbaCal™ is derived from marine calcareous algae, a plant-based source naturally rich in minerals. This type of calcium is embedded in a complex matrix that also includes trace elements such as iron, manganese and iodine.

The choice of a plant-based source meets the needs of those who prefer non-animal supplementation and high-quality raw materials.

Customer Questions
I know, vitamin D2 is what is usually used in the US. Still, for a product which is sold internationally, why use a highly dosed vitamin D2 instead of a lower dose of D3 which would be a more efficient solution (as it remains longer in the human organism) and a more natural one, since it is the form in which the human organism itself produces vitamin D? Thank you for answering this.
Hello Henrike Blocman, Thank you for contacting EnergyBalance. HerbaCal™ contains a vitamin D2 yeast Saccharamyces cerevisae 2000IU 250% RDI according to Swiss FDA, which is not “highly dosed”! There are many studies comparing D2 and D3 and are in favour of D3, but these studies were all made with isolated, synthetic D3 and D2. We at EnergyBalance try to avoid any synthetic isolated vitamins and have chosen the D2 yeast, since there is no D3 food equivalent form available – only synthetic. We are convinced, that the food equivalent form of D2 yeast is superiour to synthetic isolated D3. It is well known, that the bioavailability of isolated sythetic vitamins are a problem for the uptake into the human body. To answer your question: The vitamin D2 yeast Saccharamyces cerevisae is with 2000IU 250% RDI not highly dosed, considering the recent studies that suggest the increase of vitamin D. The use of an isolated synthetic (which is not natural) vitamin D3 in a lower dose is ...
