These Omega-3 fatty acids are derived entirely from algae. While a vegan alternative to fish oil was not available in the past, today there is one – and it offers many benefits.
DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and normal brain function. DHA and EPA contribute to the normal function of the heart and the maintenance of normal blood pressure.
What are the advantages of vegan Omega-3?
Bioavailability and effectiveness: Omega-3 from algae comes directly from the primary source of EPA and DHA, avoiding the intermediary process through fish. They are therefore very effective, immediately available, and not derived from animal sources.
Purity: Omega-3 from algae is produced in controlled environments, making it free from contaminants.
Sustainability and ethical choice: Omega-3 from algae is a vegan and eco-friendly choice, as it does not negatively impact marine ecosystems (except for our fish oil Ovega-3, which boasts the Friends of The Sea certification).
Ovega3® DHA EPA, vegan capsules with Omega-3 DHA and EPA derived from the microalga Schizochytrium sp. DHA and EPA are the most active and valuable forms of fatty acids normally found in Omega-3. They are practically the active ingredients of Omega-3, highly bioavailable and easily absorbed by the human body.
Ovega3® DHA EPA is designed to be a complete Omega-3 supplement and to provide an ideal daily intake of Omega-3.
Each capsule contains: 250 mg of active fatty acids in high-quality plant oil: 170 mg DHA + 80 mg EPA.
Omega-3 works on regulating blood lipids:
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential, meaning our body cannot produce them and must obtain them through diet. Omega-3 fatty acids are embedded in cell membranes.
For expectant mothers:
Omega-3 fatty acids affect the development of the brain and eyes in children. Eicosanoids influence numerous metabolic functions.
Foundations for eyes and brain:
60% of all fatty acids in the retinal membrane and 40% of unsaturated fats in the brain are made up of Omega-3 DHA. Omega-3 reduces the negative effects of arachidonic acids, i.e., Omega-6, which are excessive in diets too rich in animal-based foods.
Omega-3 alone is not enough:
Omega-6 fatty acids influence our ability to absorb Omega-3 fatty acids. Too many Omega-6 fatty acids in our diet slow down the absorption of Omega-3 fatty acids. The German Nutrition Report of 2000 and the Austrian Nutrition Report of 2003 highlighted that the population consumes too many Omega-6 fatty acids daily. According to the nutritional reports, the current ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 is 8:1, whereas studies suggest it should be 5:1. This means that the consumption of Omega-6 should be reduced while the consumption of Omega-3 should be increased.
Usage: Swallow 1 or 2 capsules daily at the beginning of a meal (do not chew). Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
Ingredients: Oil from the microalga Schizochytrium sp., Antioxidant: tocopherol extract (Vitamin E). Soft VegeCaps: modified starch, glycerin, carrageenan; acidity regulator: sodium phosphates. 2 (MK-7); plant-based capsule shell (potato starch).
