Longlife Granatum Longlife Granatum is an antioxidant supplement with pomegranate extract and microencapsulated vitamin K2, enriched with green tea polyphenols. It is especially designed to support male well-being after the age of 50. Each capsule contains 253 mg of active polyphenols from selected plant sources.
Pomegranate is a concentrated source of source of secondary plant compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and ellagic acid, which are known for their protective role against oxidative stress.
A clinical trial published on PubMed (Pantuck et al., 2006) investigated the effects of pomegranate juice in men with prostate cancer. Following surgery or radiotherapy, daily consumption of 240 ml of juice led to an increase in PSA doubling time from 15 to 54 months, along with a (-12%) reduction in cell proliferation and a (+17%) increase in apoptosis.
According to a study from the University of Wisconsin, certain compounds found in pomegranate may significantly slow down cellular oxidation, , particularly in male reproductive organs.
Studies from the Hollings Institute (MUSC – South Carolina) have highlighted the protective properties of ellagic acid,, a phenol found in pomegranate. Dr. Daniel Nixon began studying it as early as 1993, demonstrating its ability to counteract oxidative damage.. While ellagic acid is also found in nuts and various fruits, it is particularly concentrated in pomegranate.
Green tea is rich in catechins such as EGCG, ECG, EGC and is widely studied for its antioxidant benefits. EGCG, in particular, is the focus of a study funded by Deutsche Krebshilfe investigating its potential preventive effects against colon cancer (Universities of Halle and Ulm, €2.1 million in funding).
