Cork trees save up to 30 percent more CO2 than other trees
With an area of approximately 2.3 million hectares, the Mediterranean cork-oak forests absorb approximately 13 million tons of CO2 per year. Portugal's cork trees bind approximately five percent of the country's CO2 emissions. The bark of the cork oak is harvested every nine years and processed with little waste into various cork products. 



The cork oak is one of the biotope's 150 endemic species. It is the only tree on earth,  whose bark can be removed without harming the tree. A cork oak whose bark is harvested regularly binds even more than three times as much CO2 as an unused cork oak. Cork oak forests provide refuge for endangered species such as the Iberian lynx, of which only about 100 animals are left, the Spanish imperial eagle  or the monk vulture. The Algerian and Tunisian cork forests are the habitat of the endangered Barbary red deer. 


There are many excellent possibilities for recycling used bottle corks. The recycled material can be used, for example, for building insulation or for floor coverings. The cork oak habitats are among the biologically richest in the world and are listed under the EU Habitats Directive in the Natura 2000 network. Of all the forest habitats, they contain among the world's highest levels of biodiversity. Cork can be dropped off at any public recycling center.

Natural mineral salt
When an antiperspirant claims to be “aluminum-free,” they are saying it does not contain aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum chloride, aluminum hydroxybromide or aluminum zirconium—all forms of aluminum commonly used in antiperspirants and deodorants. To stop the flow of sweat to your skin’s surface, the aluminum plugs sweat ducts in the top layer of your skin stopping the the natural flow of sweat to your skin’s surface.
This aluminum can also be absorbed into your body where it can then build up as part of your body burden. Alzheimer’s disease and cancer are two illnesses known to be associated with aluminum exposure.

The aluminum in crystal deodorant stones is a different type of aluminum, called alum. The most common form is potassium alum, also known as potassium aluminum sulfate.

Potassium alum (and other alums) is a natural mineral salt made up of molecules that are too large to be absorbed by your skin. They form a protective layer on your skin that inhibits the growth of odour-causing bacteria.

Instructions for use
Moisten the tip of the stick it and glide it gently over the important areas. Remember to dry the stick with, i.e., paper towel after use.
