The baobab (also known in Africa as the "bread tree") has been popularly regarded as a natural source of health and well-being already for centuries. The baobab fruit contains fourteen essential vitamins and minerals. In Africa this tree is considered sacred and "medicinal".
The baobab fruit, leaves and seeds are being used in almost all African folk medicine to counteract a whole range of health-related problems.

Precious nectar
From the mechanical pressing of the baobab fruit is obtained a nectar that contains several essential fatty acids and is appreciated by the local population both as food and as a cosmetic agent to improve the tone and elasticity of the skin.
The pulp is rich in nutrients, vitamin C, calcium, soluble and insoluble fibers, minerals and other vitamins. The leaves, eaten fresh, are a source of protein and amino acids. The seeds, roasted, are edible and taste similar to pistachios.

Baobab contains more vitamin C than an orange!
The vitamin C content of baobab is 6 times more concentrated than the one of oranges.
It contains twice as much calcium as milk and 50% more calcium than spinach. Baobab is one of the best iron supplements. It contains considerable amounts of potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, copper and other minerals. The pulp is half composed of soluble and insoluble fiber.

Intolerance to gluten and milk?
The high protein and calcium content makes Baobab an excellent milk substitute for people who cannot tolerate lactose.
Thanks to its amino acids, baobab can also be considered as a nutritional supplement for those who are active in sports.
Baobab is rich in thiamine (vitamin B1), which is essential for the functioning of the nervous system.
Baobab being rich in fiber goes hand in hand with the functioning of the digestive and intestinal systems.

Bio Baobab by EnergyBalance
Baobab is used in its natuarl form, without altering its properties. Its natural growth and ripening do not require human effort. The fruit dries naturally on the plant and is then harvested. The natural drying of the fruit on the tree and the absence of chemical treatments make EnergyBalance™ powder a safe and guaranteed chemical-free product. EnergyBalance™ Baobab comes from Senegal and has European BIO certification.
