New formula with natural astaxanthin
Astaxanthin from the haematococcus algae is the strongest natural antioxidant there is. Although this pure astaxanthin mostly contains astaxanthin, it also contains antioxidant ingredients like lutein, beta-carotene and natural vitamin E. These substances work together, which means they increase the effect of astaxanthin, making this pure astaxanthin the strongest natural astaxanthin there is.
Ovega3™ contains essential omega-3 fatty acids with the active ingredients EPA and DHA
The ingredients in Ovega3™ include the most important active omega-3 substances EPA, eicosapentaenoic acid, and DHA, docosahexaenoic acid. These active omega-3 substances are important for our bodies and cannot be compared to other omega-3 fatty acids, which come in the form of ALA, alpha linolenic acid. ALA, alpha linolenic acid, is not an active substance and first needs to be turned into the active omega-3 substances, DHA, EPA, DPA or OTA, by our bodies in a complex process. 90% of the substance is lost when our body turns ALA into DHA. That means that out of 2,000mg of omega-3 alpha linolenic acid, only 10%, or 200mg, of the active omega-3 substance, docosahexaenoic acid, remains after our bodies have completed the process.

Ovega3™ is environmentally friendly and protects the fish population
EnergyBalance™ uses Friend of the Sea ecologically fish oil from sustainable, certified fisheries for its Ovega3™ product. Friend of the Sea is a non-profit NGO whose job it is to protect marine habitats. Friend of the Sea was founded by Dr. Paolo Bray, the European director of the Earth Island Institute's Dolphin Project to save the dolphins.
The save the dolphins project has rescued millions of dolphins from death in tuna fish nets, laying the foundation for sustainable fishing practices. Friend of the Sea is an important international organization for the certification of fish from sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.
The organization certifies products from every continent including the most widely traded species of fish and omega-3 fish oil. The fish products and their origin are inspected on site by independent international certification agencies in accordance with the strict Friend of the Sea sustainability criteria. The Friend of the Sea sustainability criteria are based on the FAO guidelines for labeling fish and fish products from deep-sea fisheries as eco sustainable. Only fish species that are not being over-fished are eligible to be certified. The fishing practices must not compromise or destroy the integrity of the ocean floor. The bycatch is not permitted to exceed 8% of the total catch. Friend of the Sea is a participant in the Zero Impact® project. Ecologically certified, sustainable fisheries are supported within the context of community responsibility efforts to reduce annual CO2 emissions contributing to the greenhouse effect. CO2-emissions are compensated for, helping protect forests and support reforestation efforts.

Omega-3s are essential fatty acids that our bodies cannot produce, which means our bodies get them from the food we eat. Here are three of the most well-known omega-3 fatty acids:
- ALA = alpha linolenic acid, contained in vegetable oil
- EPA = eicosapentaenoic acid, contained in fish oil
- DHA = docosahexaenoic acid, contained in fish oil
ALA is a precursor to EPA & DHA. The body first needs to break ALA down to be able to use it. When the plant-based alpha linolenic acid, ALA, is broken down by the body, around 90% of the substances EPA & DHA are lost during the process:
One gram ALA = 0.1g EPA & DHA. EPA & DHA are the true active omega-3 substances that have the desired positive effect on our bodies. Most scientific studies are conducted with the omega-3 fatty acids EPA & DHA.
Omega-3 effects blood lipid regulation.
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential to our bodies. Our bodies cannot produce them and depend on our diet for these important substances. Omega-3 fatty acids are incorporated into the cell membrane and are crucial for their production and function. Omega-3 fatty acids positively affect blood lipid regulation.
For expectant mothers
Omega-3 fatty acids affect brain and eye development in infants. The omega-3 byproducts, eicosanoids, influence numerous metabolic processes and functions.
Building block for eyes and brain
60% of all fatty acids in the eye's retina and 40% or most unsaturated brain lipids are made up of the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA. Omega-3 reduces the negative effects of arachidonic acid, which is an omega-6 fatty acid and too much of which is consumed when we eat food products of animal origin.
Not enough omega-3 fatty acids
Omega-6 fatty acids affect our ability to absorb omega-3 fatty acids. Too many omega-6 fatty acids in our diet slows the absorption of omega-3 fatty acids. The 2000 German Nutrition Report and the 2003 Austrian Nutrition Report found that the population consumes too much omega-6 in their daily diet. According to the nutrition reports, the current relationship between omega-6 and omega-3 is 8 : 1. According to scientific findings, however, it should be 5 : 1. That means we need to reduce our consumption of omega-6 fatty acids like linoleic acid, gamma-linolenic acid and arachidonic acid and/or increase our consumption of omega-3.
TG fish oil - natural triglycerides (TG)
also referred to as triacylglycerol, are the natural forms of fat. All fats produced or stored by living plants or animals as energy reserves take the form of TG. TG is a compound of 3 fatty acids and 1 glycerol. In addition to TG, omega-3 fish oil is also sold in many countries in the form of ethyl ester (EE). EE is an ""artificial form", which means it does not exist in nature in that form and is more affordable than TG.
ECO-label with CO2 distillation process, a marketing scam
CO2 distillation is a distillation technology that is used to increase the omega-3 content of fish oil, etc. However, this technology is out-of-date and has been replaced by molecular distillation. Today, CO2 distillation is only used by a few companies. The reason for this is poor effectiveness and the fact that the process is just too expensive. Miami Nutrition recently brought out an omega-3 fish oil produced using CO2 distillation in order to increase the concentration of omega-3. In their marketing activities, they talk about the environmentally friendly CO2 distillation process, which is better than molecular distillation. The fact is that Miami Nutrition starts with a fish oil that has already undergone molecular distillation even before they start the CO2 distillation process that they use for their product. The initial fish oil contains around 50% omega-3 fatty acids. Miami Nutrition's claims that the procedure is new, highly effective and environmentally friendly are not true and constitute a marketing scam.
Ovega3™ is really fresh
Ovega3™ fish oil contains more than 90% unsaturated and, therefore, delicate fatty acids. In order to guarantee the best quality, EnergyBalance™ decided to place the maximum shelf life of this product at 3 years following production of the fish oil. A number of other fish oil capsules on the market have a shelf life of up to 5 years, which can mean rancid fish oil.
Consumers don't notice if fish oil has become rancid because it is contained in capsules. But it is common knowledge that good, edible oil needs to be kept in a cool, dark place and is best consumed within 3 years.
Our body prefers natural antioxidants
The body is constantly exposed to different free-radical and oxidation hazards. Antioxidants protect the organism from oxidation and free radicals. Ovega3™ contains the natural antioxidants astaxanthin, vitamin C and all-trans coenzyme Q10. Astaxanthin from the haematococcus algae is the strongest natural antioxidant available. The camu camu fruit contains a high amount of vitamin C as well as several secondary plant substances. Research has proven that the expensive coenzyme Q10 has excellent protective qualities, is a product of natural fermentation, comes in its natural all-trans configuration and does not contain any artificial CIS isomers. The antioxidants contained in Ovega3™ is a natural dietary component and can be absorbed by the body. No other pharmaceutical or isolated vitamin are as bioavailable as the vitamins in Ovega3™.
If, for example, dietary vitamin C is consumed in sufficient quantities as part of a balanced biochemical chemistry in the body with more than 150 redox and non-redox chemicals - otherwise known as phytochemicals, which are available in every fruit and vegetable - this dietary vitamin C has an antioxidant effect. Pharmaceutical vitamin C, on the other hand, like that contained in a number of products, can lead to an unbalanced chemical make-up in high dosages where it functions as a pro-oxidant and can promote disease and can damage the DNA. Other omega-3 capsules contain vitamin E = alpha-Tocopherol or RRR-alpha-Tocopherol, which are isolated or synthetic. These vitamin-tocopherol compounds have effective preservative properties thanks to their isolated form and are therefore often used as preservatives in oils, but are no match for the natural vitamin E contained in foodstuffs.
Small, gelatin-free, plant-based capsules, gluten-free, halal and kosher
Many people have difficulty swallowing large capsules. That's why we made the Ovega3™ capsules as small as possible. Capsules are often made from gelatin. Gelatin is an odorless, colorless, gel-like substance produced by cooking down connective tissue (skin, bones, sinew), which releases the protein mixture that makes up gelatin. Because of the BSE scare, many consumers are reluctant to consume products made from animal bones - like gelatin.
That's why EnergyBalance™ decided to use a plant-based capsule in its Ovega3™ product. The Ovega3™life capsules are made from modified potato starch, are gelatin-free and are purely plant-based.
Adults, teenagers and children over 7: Take 2 capsules daily with or without food. Do not chew.
